"My music is better than your music," he chides his friend. "Yeah?" his friend bites back, "well at least my music HAS music." "My music has music." "That's just noise!!"
"Go ahead and start," he encourages. "But I thought this was YOUR meeting," cutting through her confusion. He explains, "Actually it was my boss's meeting, but she couldn't make it. She said you'd know what to talk about."
She covers her ears. "Can't they jackhammer a little quieter?!" she shouts. "They can't help that," he tries to explain. "Well," she asks, "can't they go jackhammer someplace else??!!"
He stares at her. "You mean like where the problem ISN'T?"
She talks on her cell phone. He looks patient. She talks on her cell phone. He looks bored. She talks on her cell phone. He looks angry. She talks on her cell phone.
"Don't I know you?" he says as he racks his memory. "Well, I am an actor," comes the snooty reply. "Didn't you used to wait tables at that place downtown?"
"They are not 'problems,' they are 'challenges' and 'opportunities,'" she corrects. "Now can anyone come up with what our challenges and opportunities are?"
"Yeah," he speaks out, "we're challenged to find opportunities to fix our PROBLEMS!"
They wander about in the noon day sun. "How about Thai?" he asks. "I hate ties," comes the answer. "But I thought you liked Thai." "Makes me choke." "It's not THAT spicy." "What are you talking about?" "What are YOU talking about?"
